21 yrs ago today, I ......
Good Morning to you all, seems more often than not that I am apologising that I have been absent from here.....Life just seems to get in the way of my blogging lately!!!! Especially since I have started full time employment! I love my new job, BUT unfortunately my scrapbooking is a bit hit and miss these days!
Anyway getting back to the title of this blog post.....21 yrs ago today, I was in labour with my first born child.....it was a very long and painful labour with many complications! I didn't actually have my son until 5.58am tomorrow morning. Jeffrey Aidan Dalton was born with a severe cleft lip and no palate.
Welcome to Motherhood, being a first time Mum is daunting enough let alone throwing in medical complications
Fatherhood is just as daunting....getting used to feeding with different bottles and teats
Life throws you many twists and turns such as operations at 3months of age when they did an operation to repair Jeff's Cleft Lip,
This is him only a couple of weeks after the operation....He just always seemed to bounce back from the many op's he has had and is still having over the years. This is the pic that I used for his 21st announcement and also on his cake!!!
But I must say that we have come out the other side, much stronger human beings and we are celebrating his 21st Birthday tonight here at home with a Birthday Bash for him. Boys are so lapsy daisy about details & arrangements...
Jeff has been of no real help when it comes to organising his party..."Ohhh it will be ok Mum, just do whatever! Ohhh I don't know who I want to come....Don't worry about that!"
Anyways I have spent the last 2 weeks organising the party it is not going to be a very big deal as far as some 21st goes....But at least I have organised something for him. Only a couple of relies are coming :( Sad about that, we just live too far away for them to come! Hopefully I will be back tomorrow to show you some photos of my boys 21st party!!! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for visiting my blog and leaving me your heartfelt comments. They put a smile on my face and lift my spirits. I really appreciate them, Luv Shaz xoxo

Lots and Lots of Scrapping....And some cards
Hey Girls....Been a very busy weekend for some of us....Not me!!! I spent the whole entire 4 days scrapping away to my hearts content....I have completed 5 LO's, started another one and have a plan for the 7th LO and I did 2 cards which I can't show you just yet!!! OMG it felt so great to finally get some scrapping done!!! And scrapping that I am completely happy with....It is a miracle, my mojo is back....So I suppose you wanna see.....patience my friends!
I have just joined a new forum with some new friends.....check it out at Papercraft Addictions.....Please feel free to come over and join in the fun, Introduce yourself - Tell them Shaz sent you as there is a bit of a funny haha going on at the moment. They are calling me Chief Recruiter to Papercraft Addictions LOL!!! I have been telling everyone about this wonderful new site.
I also am doing a DT for the Photography Challenge there
So I have been doing some, well most of their challenges this weekend! There are some that I just can't show you yet....But here are the ones that I can!!!
This is the first one that I started last Tues for Scrapbooking classes at 2.45pm
for Trish's Distressed challenge.....It is a scraplift from one of the Kaisercraft mags....It is my friend Angie
Then I did this Scraplift
With a photo of Angie's DD Dakota....dressing up with my Butterfly Fairy Wings for Scrapchat Retreat....Check me out with my wings in the last post.
This LO took me all day....And I even had a Sketch to follow.
I don't know I just had to make sure the journalling was just right before I could finish adding all the other bits and bobs, very happy with the end result....Can't believe it took me all day!!!
I used some of the items that were on the original LO for Scrapchat's Amanda challenge of Recycling and using products I don't normally use....Napkin is the scalloped border, the flowers are off the napkin, the blue mesh I used on my LO and the piece of string I used to paint over on the original LO.
Colour challenge was so easy, Blue, White and Silver....Loved doing this LO...
It is a photo my very best friend Wendy, we went to boarding school together all those year ago....We caught up briefly in May when she had to return home to Proserpine to farewell her Grandma Mimi!! Was a short and sweet visit but better than no visit at all!! Really cranky that you can't read my tag, its Best Friends.
The last LO that I can show you just yet is Marissa's word challenge - Family. These girls are the ones that I just went away to Brisbane to go to their bi-annual retreat....The Scrapchat Girls are my online family....These girls have helped me through some times lately....Mwah Thanks girls!!! I used some of the goodies that different girls gave at the retreat....Thanks Chelle and Lizzy
The other LO's and the cards I can't put up just yet....But I do want to share this with you all....My good friend Marissa made this LO for me. It is of photos of when Susan & I left the Scrapchat Retreat and had morning tea at Woody Point.
Marissa is so clever she incorporated a waterfall card effect for all the photos.

Here are my photos for the Photography Challenge - Glint, Shimmer and Sparkle
Try to be a lil tricky in getting your photos....

These 2 are out of focus but I love them just the same, both taken in moving vessels...First one is out the window of the Brisbane's Eye Ferris Wheel!
Second one is on the City Cat on the Brisbane River
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving me your heartfelt comments. They put a smile on my face and lift my spirits. I really appreciate them, Luv Shaz xoxo

I'm back....Been here, there and everywhere!!! Lots of photos!
To all my loyal followers and dearest friends....I'm back! It has been way too long, I have been here, there and everywhere!!! I have spent some quality time with some of my Beautiful and Treasured Online Friends especially this gorgeous girl Angie and her beautiful children

Then Angie and I Scrapped the night away with these girls Lisa, Belynda, Emma

And then I went to the Scrapbooking Retreat with the Scrapchat girls on the Gold Coast. Thank you to Karen for convincing me to come, and a special thank you to Kathy(whom I had only just met) for asking me if I wanted to go to the Kaisercraft outlet after our shopping trip to Spotlight. Mwah Thanks Kathy.

I am so Thankful to these girls they have pulled me out of a deep dark hole that I have been hiding in for a couple of months now! And to this lovely bunch of devils who are my rock when times get tough, they gatecrashed the Retreat for the Saints & Sinners night....

Was so much fun, to see more photos go to my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=183460&id=655542693&l=f5f190fdbf
BUT of course because I am a good girl I went as Saint Butterfly of the free world.
I have finally done some scrapping that I am really happy with, which has been so hard for me lately!!! I am very self critical of my scrapbooking abilities. I had to do this lil number before I went to the Retreat as part of our swap.

My friend Kerry here in Collinsville helped me design this humble lil old milk carton into this creation. Tanyah Payne was the lucky girl who got to pick my carton
Some of it has been for DT work that I should have done before May for ScrapNCraft with T, but I hadn't scrapped for so long that I did it in the month of May.....Sorry I am so late with this guest DT LO's Tanyah.
At the Scrapchat Retreat I scrapped 2 challenge LO's and 1 6x6 LO for the Retreat Album and finished off a LO that I had sitting for a while here at home. Not much for 3 days efforts. BUT the LO that I dreaded doing the most because of it's challenge requirements....Amanda Moran Thank you for challenging me to not be so perfect!!!
We had to use recycled things out of a Kaisercraft bag, so I grabbed a piece of hessian- which I made a lil pocket out of to hold the challenge, some blue mess stuff, pretty paper napkins-which I used Mod Podge on to create some dimension on my LO, I used paint and staples which I hardly ever use. And I had been to the Kaisercraft outlet with Kathy the day before so I decided to use my Kaisercraft bag as the basis of my LO.
Tracey made the lil roses all over my LO and the lil tree...you can find them on her blog. I had so much fun creating this LO, and everyone that saw it loved what I had done, especially Cindy from Kaisercraft Outlet at Robina. She asked me if she could display it at her shop for 6 months??? I am like are you serious???
She is like deadly serious, so she went to the store to get me some lettering to complete the LO and she took it off of me right then and there once I had put the lettering on it! WOO HOO, pretty exciting stuff hey??? Thanks to Amanda and Cindy!!
Here it is displayed at the Kaisercraft outlet at Robina, Thanks to Gypsy for taking these pics
And I have just found out that I won Lexie's Scrapbox challenge from the retreat as well!!! Lisa K picked out the PP's for me to do this LO, Love this photo of these 2 special lil people that I stayed with while I was on the Gold Coast.
This is my 6x6 LO for the lucky winner of Retreat Album....Michelle Jamieson
I got a lift back to Brisbane with this wonderful lady,Susan we went sightseeing along the way....Stopped and had coffee and cake
then went onto to meet Ali and Shirley for lunch at Sizzlers.

And I stayed with Leish and her beautiful family...He lil ones have grown so much since Feb when I saw them
My almost 19yr old DD brought her very first car - Proton S16 the week after I got home from Retreat
This past week I have accepted a position for a 36hr working week at the local Telecentre(internet cafe). I have been volunteering there for the best part of this year...I had my 1st paid days last week!!! It was awesome to see a lil bit extra in the bank account this week!!! Now all I need is for my son to get a job that pays.
Thanks for visiting my blog and reading and reading and reading and looking at the endless amount of photos and hopefully you will leave me your heartfelt comments, if I haven't bored you too much!!! They put a smile on my face and lift my spirits. I really appreciate them, Luv Shaz xoxo
